ALTERNATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY #1
CAFFENOL and PHOTOGRAPHIC GARDEN
Anyone who does analogue photography knows that processing involves resorting to expensive and toxic chemistry, both for us and the environment.
Starting by understanding what chemical reactions occur in the transformation of silver salts exposed to metallic silver, in this training we will address ways to develop B&W photographic film and paper with affordable, low-toxicity products we have at home.
Caffenol is an alternative, low-toxicity photo developer created by Dr. Scott A. Wiiliams and his Photography Technique class at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in the 1990s. This discovery made it possible to develop photographic or cinematographic film using simple, accessible, cheap and low-toxic reagents, facilitating its use and propagation.
