Casa da Imagem had the initial goal of preserving and producing research on the Archive “Teófilo Rego – Foto Comercial”, which represents the personal and commercial activity of this photographer between the years 40s and 90s of the XX century. The Archive was acquired by Manuel Valente de Pinho Leão (the founder) and later donated to the Foundation.
