WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS:

*the workshops have a cost of 2,5€ / student

CAFFENOL-C PHOTOGRAMS

By placing objects directly on a photosensitive paper and then exposed to light, we will produce enigmatic images through a photography technique, developed since the mid-nineteenth century, which does not use the camera. Opacity, transparency and translucency are concepts that will be discussed in this workshop.

Orientation: Marta Ribeiro

Pre-school, Elementary, Middle, and High School

STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY

This workshop will allow for the representation of a staged situation or the creation of character portraits and object records through photography. The work with lighting allows the creation of subdued or expressive shadows that give a certain character and intensity to the scene represented.

For the workshop it is necessary to guarantee, by the school/group, the following conditions:

– a selection of objects to be used in staging or for recording;

– one digital camera or cell phone with a (good resolution) camera for each group of 4 to 5 students;

Orientation: Joana Mateus and Inês Azevedo

Middle and High School

PAINTING PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE

A revival of an old photographic technique. At the time of black and white photography, watercolor painting allowed for the coloring of landscapes and photographic portraits. This technique was useful to correct defects in the photograph (re-painting), to eliminate elements of the image (used by censorship and for the falsification of documents) or to accentuate aspects that one wanted to enhance in the image. This workshop will use painting on black and white photocopies as an economic and expressive resource.

IMAGES ON STAGE

Using photographic images of Teófilo Rego, or of themes he worked on, we will build a mobile scenic device, from which new scenes, in miniature, will emerge. It is a small diorama made of paper, which can be photographed as if it were a landscape with characters in a theater or movie set. A workshop that, based on photographic images, works on the drawing and the composition of the three-dimensional space to transform it, again, into two-dimensional photographic images.
