We challenged our neighbours to decorate and display a St John’s waterfall in their shop windows, making the waterfall a body resulting from the dialogue between the commercial products, the St John’s figures and the photographs belonging to the Teófilo Rego Archive. In addition to the businesses, the Mafamude and Vilar do Paraíso Parish Council, the Parish of Santo Ovídio and Cresce ‘O Regaço’ also took part.
The results and community involvement were fantastic!
As well as our local neighbours, we’ll also be joined by our work friends from the European Bridging Project. There will be waterfalls performed in collaboration with OSMOPE, Manuel António Pina School’s kindergarten and Formigosa’s kindergarten, as well as incredible waterfall interpretations by partners Cultureghem and the Alvar Aalto Museum.
As a token of our gratitude and pride in our work, we will be exhibiting photographs taken of the Cascades and their creators from 7 September at Casa da Imagem.
