Art education project with Chouselas Primary School
SEMENTE AZUL was Casa da Imagem’s first project with schools, conceived in co-operation with Chouselas Primary School and based on a perspective that sees art as a field of action, production and research, in constant relationship and coexistence with the environment that surrounds it. The work object chosen for this project was the representation of everyday life in the form of an image, of which the student was the author and main character. The image was thought of as a surface that brings together previous choices of objects and scenarios that allow certain situations to be created and represented. The aim was to develop an understanding of the production of a personal image as something that results from research, selection processes and the determination of symbolic and representative elements of identities that involve questioning the social as a human construction in constant mutation. To produce a final image, we worked on the concept of framing as the field in which the action takes place.
