Round table with the presentation of the results of the ESAP Project ‘Archive and Mediation: from Teófilo Rego’s Douro to contemporary artistic practice’.

Launch of the book “ROTA 222, imagens do Douro” This publication came about as a result of the O Douro dos Fotógrafos, project, funded by the Support for Cultural Agents 2022 programme of the Northern Regional Directorate for Culture DRCN, is part of the 20th anniversary of the Douro’s classification as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was developed in partnership between ESAP, CEAA and the Manuel Leão Foundation’s Casa da Imagem. The results were presented in an exhibition which included a text setting out the objectives and the research we had set out to carry out. In this edition, also funded by the DRCN (Support for Cultural Agents 2023), more information has been added following the continuous research we have been doing in order to better contextualise Teófilo Rego’s photographic work, which necessarily involves comparing it with the work of other contemporary photographers.
